What happens when plans fall apart?

It all started the week of Thanksgiving... 😬

To be honest, we rarely get sick so I thought nothing of a few random sneezes early in the week, but as the weekend approached, the sniffles and coughs from both kids clued me in on what was up.

At this point, I've yet to get sick (I'm chalking that up to the no-sugar, carnivore diet and living on a prayer lol) BUT I've been getting up every 2 hours every night for 10+ days now because one of my littles has a lingering, croupy cough that just won't relent at night.

To say I'm exhausted is an understatement... It feels like I'm back in the newborn stage again (without the mental preparation).

Why am I telling you this?

Because the last couple of weeks were supposed to look very different.

I was planning to launch something incredible on the first of December, but life just got in the way.

And you know what?

That's okay.

As a mama with a lot of priorities and responsibilities, sometimes family and sanity have to come first (I'm not saying I have any sanity left but... I'm trying).

But here's what this experience reminded me:

Flexibility isn't just a nice-to-have in your business - it's essential!

We can plan, prepare, and strategize all we want (and believe me, I LOVE a good plan), but sometimes life throws curveballs that force us to pivot. The key isn’t to avoid those moments—it’s to build a business that can adapt when they happen.

For me, this means creating workflows, systems, and strategies that allow my business to keep moving—even when I can’t show up 100% of the time.

It means learning to give myself grace and finding ways to prioritize what truly matters, whether that’s taking care of sick kiddos, catching up on sleep, or taking a step back to recharge.

And guess what? The same is true for YOU.

As entrepreneurs, we often feel like we have to do it all, be everywhere, and stick to every deadline we’ve set. But a business that works for you, not against you, is one that has room for the unexpected.

Practical Tips for Acclimating to Change:

So, what can you do to build more flexibility into your business? Here are a few things that help me:

1️⃣ Prioritize your non-negotiables: Know what tasks absolutely have to happen, and let the rest wait when life gets overwhelming.

2️⃣ Lean on systems and automation: Set up workflows, email sequences, and tools that keep things running even when you need to step away.

3️⃣ Cultivate a supportive community: Having people to turn to for advice, brainstorming, or just encouragement can make all the difference.

At the end of the day, life happens. Priorities shift, plans change, and we have to adjust. But building a business that can bend instead of break during those moments? That’s where the magic happens.

I’ve got something exciting launching soon (a little later than planned, but right on time for where I’m at). In the meantime, if you’re feeling stretched or need help building flexibility into your business, let’s connect.

💛 Here’s to building a business that supports the life you want—curveballs and all, Reader.

P.S. Keep an eye on your inbox—I’ll be sharing more about this launch this week and you won’t want to miss it!
